  • Date of Birth: 14 September 1952 (born Hong Kong, later raised in Tawau)
  • Secondary: Attended All Saints Secondary School in Sabah
  • Undergraduate: Earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from a university in the United States (based on reports)
  • LLB (Second Class Upper Honours) and LLM from Bond University, Australia 
  • Sabah State Assembly Member (ADUN) for Api‑Api since May 2013, and has served continuously through multiple state terms.

  • State Minister of Tourism, Culture & Environment, first under the WARISAN administration (2018–2020) and again since January 2023 under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition led by CM Hajiji Noor.

  • Served as Deputy Chief Minister III of Sabah (May–September 2020), becoming Sabah’s first Chinese woman to hold the post.

  • Currently a member of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), and also holds leadership posts within Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah.

  • Held roles including Sabah PKR Chairperson (until removed in 2022), Sabah PH Chairman (until stepping down in Dec 2024), and was reappointed as a state adviser for PKR Sabah in June 2025. She also previously served as PH Vice-President at the national level.

  • As of mid‑2025, she no longer serves as divisional chief of Kota Kinabalu PKR—lost the post in April 2025—but continues active involvement as PKR Sabah Advisor and still represents Api‑Api under PH/PKR in the GRS state administration.

  • She made history as Sabah’s first Chinese female Deputy Chief Minister, serving in the WARISAN-PH government under Ketua Menteri Shafie Apdal, from May to September 2020

  • Sabah State Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment (2018–2020). Oversaw Sabah’s tourism promotion, cultural heritage and environmental policy during her ministerial tenure

  • ADUN for Api‑Api (Sabah State Assembly) since May 2013

  • MP for Tawau from May 2018 to November 2022, representing Pakatan Harapan under PKR 

  • Founded the Tawau Chinese Women Association (1989) and later the Sabah United Chinese Women Association (SUCWA), serving as its president and honorary president 

    • Recognized as Sabah’s “Most Outstanding Woman 2024” by the United Sabah Chinese Communities Association of Kota Kinabalu

1. Federal Court Upholds Christina Liew’s Defamation Win (2023)

Liew successfully sued Leksun Bin Injil over malicious video allegations tied to the Bagahak Plantation Scheme; the Federal Court upheld the award of RM100,000 damages.

2. Appeals Court Support (2022)

The Court of Appeal confirmed the High Court’s finding that Liew was defamed, dismissing Leksun’s appeal.

3. Pakatan Harapan Leadership Post Loss (2025)

Christina Liew lost her PKR Kota Kinabalu division chief leadership position during a divisional election, signifying internal party shifts and critiques.
