  • Member of the Legislative Assembly for Sekong (N53) since September 2020, elected under WARISAN, defeating multiple-party opponents with a majority of ~1,600 votes.

  • Formerly Deputy Chairman and Strategy Director of Amanah Sabah (2015–2017), before transitioning to WARISAN in February 2020.

  • Known as “Cikgu Alias” for his role as Principal of Sekolah As-Salam, an Islamic educational institution in Sandakan. His teaching and community involvement built his reputation long before entering politics.

    • Advisor to welfare groups such as Imam An‑Nawawi Sabah and K-Marhaens Sandakan

    • Secretary, Bani Fateh Sandakan (2015)

  • Frequently involved in beach clean-ups and civic outreach, especially in Batu Sapi and Sandakan coastal villages.

  • Advocated for urgently relocating 100 families living in container homes (post-2018 fire victims) to vacant PPR housing units, citing unsafe, unhygienic living conditions. He also pushed for construction of bridges and urgent infrastructure in Kg. Gas.

  • Actively monitored and followed up on prolonged delays in basic community projects, demanding explanations from local authorities and representing residents’ welfare needs.

  • Elected MLA for Sekong (N53) in Sabah’s 2020 State Election, winning the seat with a comfortable majority of ~1,599 votes under the WARISAN banner. This was his first term as an elected representative.

  • Former Amanah Sabah Deputy Chairman & Strategy Director, who joined WARISAN on 1 February 2020 to pursue a locally focused Sabah political agenda aligned with the Fiqh Sabahi concept.

  • Fondly known as “Cikgu Alias”, he previously served as Principal of Sekolah Assalam (a community education institute in Sandakan) and earned respect as an educator and administrator in Batu Sapi communities.

  • Active in community and environmental campaigns, frequently participating in coastal cleanup programs, civic education, and grassroots outreach in areas like Kampung Bokara and Batu Sapi.

In May 2023, during state assembly debates, Alias highlighted the severity of Sandakan’s water shortage, recounting a case where family members had to carry water manually to wash the deceased—a deeply distressing consequence of long-standing infrastructure failures.

  • Alias is fondly known as “Cikgu Alias” for his prior role as the Principal of Sekolah As-Salam in Sandakan, an institution built in 1989.

  • Before joining Parti Warisan in February 2020, he was Deputy Chairman and Strategy Director of Amanah Sabah (2015–2017).
