In July 2020, as the ADUN for Gum-Gum, Arunarnsin Taib disclosed that he was repeatedly approached by agents from political rivals who offered him RM27 million, with an additional RM5 million for ministers—totaling RM32 million—if he defected from Warisan to support a new state government. Arunarnsin proactively addressed local development issues such as road access, drainage, wooden walkways, and the village jetty in Kampung Kuala Gum-Gum.
