In November 2024, ADUN Merotai, Sarifuddin Hata, punched Norazlinah on her shoulder as she exited the Sabah State Assembly building. She lodged a police report, and the Assembly witnessed heated exchanges in April 2025 regarding the handling of the incident and submission of evidence.
