Our Roadtrip: Vote Sabah, Vote Wisely.

When I first thought about Vote Sabah, Vote Wisely, it felt like just a spark — an idea born out of frustration, hope, and love for our homeland. But ideas are only powerful when acted upon. That’s why this September 2025, I will be hitting the road with three other like-minded women on a mission that is bigger than any of us individually. I am grateful that they entrusted me to lead them.

This is not just a roadtrip. It is a working journey — a journey to listen, to document, and to remind every Sabahan that the power of change rests in their hands, through their vote.

Why We’re Doing This

Representing the ancestors, powerful women before me feels inspiring.

For far too long, Sabah has been treated as if our voices don’t matter, as if we should just accept what is given to us. Yet, when you talk to ordinary Sabahans — from the kampung farmer to the urban youth, from the fisherfolk to the small business owner — you quickly realise something: We are not powerless. We only become powerless when we forget the weight of our vote.

Our team of women is setting out to prove that real change doesn’t require a title, a position, or even a large budget. What it requires is the courage to step forward, to start conversations, and to believe that the people of Sabah deserve more.

This journey is entirely self-funded. No political party, no hidden agenda, no powerful backers. Just us — combined, we are only just women, but we are also mothers — taking time away miles and miles from our families and our work because we believe in this mission. We want to show that the hands that rock the cradle are also strong enough to steer the future.

What We Hope to Do

We will travel across selected towns and villages in Sabah, meeting people where they are. Along the way, we will be collecting aspirations — the dreams Sabahans hold for their families, their communities, and their state.

Go to the grassroot and hear them out. For years they’re accustomed to empty promises, let’s encourage younger generations carry the torch of change.

We don’t want speeches or political slogans. We want real, unfiltered voices. Honest hopes. Honest frustrations. Honest calls for better leadership.

These aspirations will be gathered, and carried with us as a living reminder that elections are not about politicians alone — they are about people. On our final day, we hope to “unbox” these voices as a collective message to Sabah’s future leaders.

A Personal Hope

I know this journey will not be easy. We are going up against a system that has had sixty years to dig its roots deep. But I also know this: Sabahans are ready.

Ready to question, ready to demand, ready to take back their voice.

When I started Vote Sabah, I told myself that if this platform could help even just one person see differently, inspire one community to stand taller, or encourage one Sabahan to vote wisely — then it would all be worth it.

I am not walking this road for power or wealth. I am walking it because I believe in a better Sabah. A Sabah where leaders are accountable, where communities are heard, and where our children inherit a future brighter than ours.

The time for change is not tomorrow. It is not after the next election. The time for change is NOW.
